May 21, 2007 Special Meeting Minutes

A special meeting of the Ward County Commissioners was called to order by Chairman Watne at 4:02 pm with Comms. Fjeldahl, Gruenberg, Erickson and Lee present. Also present were Auditor/Treasurer Devra Smestad; Highway Engineer Roger Kluck and the following members of the Rice Lake Service District: Attorney Brian Hankla; President Todd Wegenast; Vice-President Mike Sellnow; Secretary Steve Zaun; Bob Hargrave; Wayne Johnson; Ken Kitzman; and Kim Cady.

 

Kluck explained that the Ward County Board of Commissioners had requested the meeting for clarification regarding re-plats, both developed and un-developed, at Rice Lake and the requirement of hooking into the sewer system.

 

The Service District was asked the number of vacant lots in the sewer district. The Service District was not sure, but will research the number and get the information to the Board.

 

Also discussed were the hook-up fees for future lots and dates when people could begin hooking into the sewer system.

The Service District questioned the Commissioners on the holding of re-plats and stated that it wasn’t fair for development; they also requested that better communication between the two entities be developed.

 

The Service District requested that the Bill and Elaine Burke plat for Rice Lake be placed on the next Commissioner meeting agenda for approval

 

The meeting was adjourned at 4:46 p.m.
