September 4, 2008 Special meeting minutes

A special meeting of the Ward County Commissioners was called to order at 8:04 a.m. by Chairman Erickson with Comms. Fjeldahl, Gruenberg and Lee present. Also present were Auditor/Treasurer Devra Smestad and State's Attorney John Van Grinsven. The purpose of the meeting was to discuss a ballot measure and appraisal of Minot Daily News property.

 

It was moved by Comm. Lee, seconded by Comm. Gruenberg to approve a ballot measure regarding the County Farm to Market levy. Roll call:  all present voted yes, motion carried.

 

Moved by Comm. Fjeldahl to receive and file the appraisal of the Minot Daily News properties.  Roll call vote: all present voted yes, motion carried.

 

Moved by Comm. Gruenberg, seconded by Comm. Fjeldahl to offer the Minot Daily News $2.1 million for the building and parking lot area, contingent upon the passage of the Building Fund measure, which will be on the November 2007 ballot. Roll call vote: all present voted yes, motion carried.

 

At 9:07 a.m., it was moved by Comm. Gruenberg, seconded by Comm. Lee to adjourn the special meeting. Motion carried and meeting was adjourned.
