Minutes of the Board of Ward County Commissioners

Special Meeting December 14, 2009

 

The special meeting of the Ward County Commissioners was called to order at 1:15 pm by Chairman Christianson with Comms. Fjeldahl, Erickson and Nybakken present. Comm. Gruenberg was absent. Also present was Auditor/Treasurer Devra Smestad. The purpose of the meeting was to interview James Grote for the All Seasons Arena Committee and to tour the old St. Joseph’s Hospital Building.

 

The interview was conducted and closed at 1:25 pm and Comms. Christianson, Fjeldahl, Erickson and Nybakken along with Auditor/Treasurer Smestad walked to the Trinity (old St. Josephs) to meet Dave Kohlman and John Kutch for a tour of their facilities.

 

The building is U-shaped with approximately 11,000 square feet per hallway with a total of approximately 192,000 square feet without the 5th Avenue Building. Some of the shared space would include the cafeteria and restrooms. The building is completely wired for technology, has newer (less than 10 years) generator and chillers with separate through wall units in each office/room similar to heater/air conditioners in motels. It is estimated that one level in the parking ramp would be available for parking. Trinity is open to discussion about leasing or selling to the County. 

 

The tour and meeting was adjourned at 2:15 pm.
