February 3, 2009 Special meeting minutes

A special meeting of the Ward County Commissioners was called to order by Chairman Christianson at 1:00 p.m. with Comms. Fjeldahl, Erickson, Nybakken present. Also present was Auditor/Treasurer Devra Smestad.  The purpose of the meeting was to review applications, interview and select members for the Advisory Study Committee.

 

Applications for the committee were received from Roger Kluck, Ula Widdel, Dee Balentine, Jim Lee, Larry Louser, Jason Zimmerman, Diane Fugere, and Robert Hale. After reviewing applications and conducting interviews of those available, it was moved by Comm. Nybakken, seconded by Comm. Christianson to make the following appointments to the Ward County Advisory Study Committee: Roger Kluck, Dee Balentine Larry Louser, Ula Widell and Jason Zimmerman. Roll call vote: all voted yes, except Comm. Fjeldahl who voted no, motion carried.

 

Comm. Erickson moved to appoint Larry Louser chairman of the committee. After discussion and verbal agreement that the committee should appoint their own chairperson, Comm. Erickson withdrew his motion.

 

It was moved by Comm. Erickson, seconded by Comm. Nybakken to appoint Devra Smestad as recorder/secretary to the Advisory Study Committee. Roll call vote: all voted yes; motion carried.

 

The organizational meeting for the committee was set for 1:30 p.m. on February 17 following the regularly scheduled Ward County Commission Meeting.

 

Having no further business, the special meeting was adjourned at 3:10 p.m.
