May 13, 2009 Special meeting minutesA special meeting of the Ward County Board of Commissioners was called to order at 9:00 a.m. by Chairman Christianson with Comms. Fjeldahl, Gruenberg, Erickson and Nybakken present. Also present were Auditor/Treasurer Devra Smestad and several department heads.With Sheriff Vern Erck and Robb Brown appearing for comment it was moved by Comm. Gruenberg, seconded by Comm. Erickson to authorize the Chairman’s signature on a Interlocal Agreement between the City of Minot and County of Ward for the ND State Lottery fund grant award. Roll call vote: all voted yes; motion carried. The following department heads then appeared regarding the salary study and position classification findings from Public Sector Personnel Consultants: Smestad; State's Attorney Roza Larson; Sheriff Vern Erck; Engineer Dana Larsen; Extension Agent Mike Rose; Recorder Sheila Dalen; Social Service Director Dan Richter; Director of Tax Equalization Mike Vendsel; Jail Commander Penny Erickson; Weed Control Officer Derrill Fick; Juvenile Detention Administrator Allison Hughes; Superintendent of Schools Jodi Johnson; Veteran’s Service Administrator Dale Braun; Building Services Superintendent Ron Overly and Library Administrator Julie Burkhart. Also appearing for comment was Matt Weatherly with Public Sector Personnel Consultants and Ward County Personnel Director Colleen Houmann. Chairman Christianson requested that a guideline of implementation be provided to the Board for discussion at the May 19 regular meeting. At 11:28 a.m. it was moved by Comm. Fjeldahl, seconded by Comm. Erickson to adjourn. Motion carried and meeting was adjourned.
