Minutes of the Board of Ward County Commissioners

Special Meeting

August 6, 2010

     

A special meeting of the Ward County Commission was called to order by Chairman Christianson at 9:05 a.m. with Comms. Fjeldahl, Erickson & Nybakken present.  Also present were Don Davidson of DLA Architects and Byron Lindbo of River of Life Church. 

 

Davidson presented the Board with a space analysis and assessment of the second, third, and fourth floors of the Trinity-St. Joseph’s Building.  The proposed areas available for lease would allow for 67,000 square feet of office space.  Davidson noted the building was the least conducive for the type of space Ward County is seeking. Discussion centered on construction and spatial challenges, vertical circulation, mechanical, demolition, traffic flow, etc. 

 

Discussion regarding the additional proposed sites included construction costs, parking, departmental spatial needs, ADA requirements, and remodeling of the existing courthouse building. The option of new office building was presented in a revised and scaled back version.

     

The Board expressed interest in a layout of the Trinity-St. Joseph’s building showing Ward County spatial needs.  Chairman Christianson stated he would like Davidson to pursue this design for the next meeting. 

     

The next meeting will be on Tuesday, August 10 at 9:00 in the Ward County Courthouse.

     

At 10:09 a.m., with no further business, the meeting was adjourned.
