June 10, 2011 Special Commission MeetingMinutes of the Board of Ward County Commissioners
June 10, 2011
The special meeting of the Ward County Commission was called to order by Chairman Gruenberg at 9:00 a.m. with Comms. Erickson and Nybakken present. Also present was Highway Engineer Dana Larsen, States Attorney Roza Larson, and Auditor/Treasurer Devra Smestad.
Highway Engineer Dana Larsen appeared. Moved by Comm. Nybakken, seconded by Comm. Erickson to approve the Joint Powers Agreement with the City of Minot for the 55th Street Project and to authorize the Chairman to sign. Roll call: all voted yes; motion carried.
Moved by Comm. Erickson, seconded by Comm. Nybakken to authorize the Ward County Auditor/Treasurer to issue checks for property purchased through the land acquisition for the 55th Street Project. Roll call: all voted yes; motion carried.
Devra reported on the Personnel Committee Meeting. FEMA stated that a policy allowing exempt employees to receive overtime pay during a state of emergency must be in place prior to the event. A policy passed now would not affect overtime pay for exempt employees during the 2011 Flood disaster. Contracted employees, such as Amanda Schooling, are eligible for overtime pay because they assume duties outside their normal contract. A proposed policy is being drafted for consideration at the next Personnel Committee meeting.
At 9:13 a.m. the meeting was adjourned.
ACCEPTED AND APPROVED THIS 21st DAY OF JUNE, 2011.
s/ Jerome Gruenberg
Chairman, Ward County Board of Commissioners
ATTEST:
s/ Devra Smestad
Auditor/Treasurer, Ward County
