Construction Projects
Notice is hereby given that the County Commissioners of the County of Ward, North Dakota, will receive sealed bids for the following projects:
County Highway 8: The Milling, Full Depth Reclamation and Bituminous Overlay of Ward County Road 8 located Northeast of Minot, beginning at the intersection of CR 8 and CR 19. The project will continue east for 8.85 miles to the intersection of CR 8 and CR 23.
County Highway 23: The Bituminous Overlay of Ward County Road 23 located Northeast of Minot, beginning at the intersection of CR 8 and CR 23. The project will continue north for 1.49 miles to the County Line.
Sealed bids will be received at the office of the Ward County Engineer until 11:00 A.M., April 17th, 2013 at which time the bids will be publicly opened and read at the Ward County Highway Department, 900 13th St. SE, Minot N.D.
All bids must be submitted, and all work shall be done in full compliance with the approved plans and specifications for road and bridge construction now on file in the Office of the Ward County Engineer.
Copies of the plans, specifications and proposal forms may be obtained at the Ward County Highway Department, 900 13th ST SE Minot, North Dakota, 58701, upon receipt of a non‑refundable fee of $25.00 for each set of documents, or free by email to Qualified Contractors (registered contractors) with the North Dakota Department of Transportation.
Notice is hereby given that the County Commissioners of the County of Ward, North Dakota, will receive proposals for the following project:
Job No. 31 CER-5119(055) – PCN 19815
Ward County will engage the services of prequalified engineering firms to perform construction engineering on the following projects in Ward County Scheduled to be completed in 2013.
Work to be performed by Consultant includes: Inspection, Survey, Materials Testing, & Record Management, and Measuring and Computing pay quantities. Firms submitting proposals must be prequalified with NDDOT to perform the construction engineering activities identified above. Firms may hire sub-consultants to perform work outside of their prequalified area of expertise.
Selection will be on the basis of the following criteria:
1) Past performance;
2) Ability of professional personnel;
3) Willingness to meet time and budget requirements;
4) Location;
5) Recent, current and projected workloads of the persons and/or firms;
6) Related experience on similar projects;
7) Recent and current work for the agency;
8) Project understanding, issues and approach.
After review of the submissions, Ward County will select firms which they will interview at a later date. Fees for services will not be criteria in the preliminary selection process, but will weigh heavily in the negotiation stages after the final selections are made. If the fees are not satisfactory or not reasonably competitive as submitted by the County’s first choice, the County will retain the right to repeat the negotiation process with other finalists.
Ward County will only consider proposals received at the office of the Ward County Engineer (900 13th Street SE, PO Box 5005, Minot, ND 58702-5005) until 2:00 P.M., April 30th, 2013.
The County Commissioners of Ward County reserve the right to reject any or all proposals, to waive any irregularities and to hold proposals for a period not to exceed Thirty (30) days from the date of opening.
