Understanding the NWS Probabilistic Flood Outlooks

The Souris River at Sawyer gauge was used to forecast flood inundated areas Northwest and Southeast of Sawyer along the Souris River.  Map stages range from 22ft (10 year event) to 31ft (500 year event), and are based on 1 ft increment increases.  This area along the Souris River is broken up into 3 map areas shown below.
