General InformationYour Son/Daughter Is Now In Detention! We realize that this may be a difficult time for you and your family, but we want you to understand that detention is the most appropriate place for your child right now! The Detention Administrator has set rules and regulations for the safety and security of the facility while your child is with us. Specific items are authorized for juveniles and may be dropped off at the Ward County Juvenile Detention Center as follows:
The shirts must have no buttons, snaps, zippers, pockets, or logos. Bras cannot have under wire.
No metal or glass is permitted in the Detention Center, please make sure all binders, paperwork and note pads are clear of these materials!!
All prescribed medication must come in the original container for verification with the pharmacy. Juveniles are not allowed to receive any perishable or non-perishable items while detained in our facility. We provide reading materials, games, toiletries, and meals for the juveniles while they stay with us. We are not a storage facility! All un-authorized items brought to Detention after admission will be refused. All juveniles brought to Detention are allowed to make an intial phone call(s) free of charge. This may be a total of two (2) completed local or collect long distance phone calls to secure counsel or to contact immediate family upon admission or as soon as the initial steps of admission have been completed.
During their stay at Juvenile Detention, juveniles may complete two phone calls between the hours of 8 AM - 1030 PM per day. Juveniles cannot leave the Detention Center without a proper court order. Once your son/daughter arrives in Detention, he/she remains here until we receive written notification from an authorized releasing agency. All rules/regulations are subject to change. |
