June 3, 2008 Park Board minutesThe meeting of the Ward County Park Board was called to order at 8:30 p.m. by Chairman Gruenberg with the following members present: John Fjeldahl, Darlene Watne, Carroll Erickson, Jim Lee and Jim Muzzy. Also present were Park Manager Steve Fuegmann; County Engineer Dana Larsen and Secretary Barbara Curren.
Moved by Comm. Watne, seconded by Comm. Lee to approve the minutes of the April 15, 2008 meeting. Roll call: all present voted yes; motion carried.
Fuegmann presented an update on the electrical upgrade at Old Settler’s Park. After discussion it was moved by Comm. Watne, seconded by Comm. Lee to authorize the installation of a transformer from Xcel Energy in the amount of $2,158. Roll call: all present voted yes; motion carried.
Fuegmann then informed the Board that no bids had been received for the old boat dock at Rice Lake. With State's Attorney John Van Grinsven appearing for comment it was Board consensus to put a “For Sale” sign on the dock and to check on the scrap price of it.
Discussion was then held on getting rural water for the park properties at Rice Lake. Moved by Comm. Watne, seconded by Comm. Lee to remain primitive at Rice Lake. Roll call: all present voted yes; motion carried.
Moved by Comm. Muzzy, seconded by Comm. Lee to investigate the County’s contractual obligation to the Rice Lake Service District for the sewer project. Roll call: all present voted yes; motion carried.
Moved by Comm. Lee, seconded by Comm. Fjeldahl to require North Prairie Rural Water to bore under the roads rather than cut through them to lay piping. Roll call: all present voted yes; motion carried.
At 9:53 a.m. it was moved by Comm. Lee, seconded by Comm. Fjeldahl to adjourn.
