May 4, 2010
The meeting of the Ward County Park Board was called to order at 8:00 a.m. by Chairman Gruenberg with the following members present: Carroll Erickson, Jack Nybakken, Ken Kitzman and Jim Muzzy. Also present were Highway Engineer Dana Larsen, Park Manager Steve Fuegmann and Secretary Kari Bennett.
It was moved by Mr. Kitzman, seconded by Comm. Erickson to approve the minutes of the January 19, 2010 meeting. Roll call vote: all voted yes; motion carried.
It was moved by Comm. Erickson, seconded by Mr. Kitzman to approve the following bills:

Moved by Mr. Kitzman, seconded by Comm. Erickson to approve the 2010 Memorandum of Understanding for Service and Maintenance of Water Board Properties and authorize the Chairman to sign. Roll call vote: all voted yes; motion carried.
Fuegmann presented the camping fee survey. Moved by Mr. Kitzman, seconded by Comm. Nybakken to increase the camping fees at Old Settlers Park to $12 per day without electricity and $18 per day with electricity. Roll call vote: all voted yes; motion carried.
Moved by Mr. Kitzman, seconded by Comm. Erickson to accept the bid of Craft Builders, Inc. not to exceed $16,848 for the Old Settlers Park bathroom remodeling project and authorize Chairman to sign the contract. This approval is contingent on clarification of which heaters will be installed. Roll call vote: all voted yes; motion carried.
Moved by Mr. Kitzman, seconded by Comm. Fjeldahl to accept the low bid of Dakota Fence not to exceed $7,500 to replace 500 feet of damaged fence at Old Settlers Park. The old fence will be removed by Fuegmann and his crew. Roll call vote: all voted yes; motion carried.
Mr. Kitzman asked Larsen to bring a revised budget, including the fence and restroom projects, to the next meeting so the Board has an accurate picture of the finances. Larsen was also asked to research having the walk bridge cables x-rayed to ensure there is no loss of cable integrity.
Larsen then notified the board that North Prairie Rural Water got an easement is putting water in at Rice Lake. Linda Anderson of Rice Lake appeared for comment.
At 8:48 a.m. with no further business it was moved by Mr. Kitzman, seconded by Comm. Nybakken to adjourn the meeting.
