Resolution creating Ward County Parks

Moved by Comm. King and seconded by Comm. Christenson that the following resolution be adopted:

 

WHEREAS, Ward County has heretofore procured and made available a tract of land on and adjacent to Rice Lake with a view of creating a park thereon, and

 

WHEREAS, there are other parks and park sites available within the county seeking means of conducting same and maintaining same, and

 

WHEREAS, Chapter 11-28 of the Revised Code of 1943 provides for the establishment of a Board of County Park Commissioners to whom Ward County contemplates turning over such land as it has for park purposes when and if such a board of county park commissioners be created and it be established that such board have means and funds available for the conduct and maintenance of such a park.

 

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that this Board of County Commissioners now recommends that the Board of County Park as a Board of County Park Commissioners, forthwith, and that the County Auditor, County Treasurer, Superintendent of Schools and the State's Attorney be requested to join in the organizing of such board as is provided for by Chapter 11-28 of the Revised Code of 1943. All voting aye, motion carried.
