Building Permits

Building permits for Townships zoned by the County are issued through this office.

To get a building permit you will need to submit the following:

1. Blueprints of the structure or structures
2. Plot plan of the lot area showing the location of the structure and the set backs from the lot lines
3. First District Health Unit approval for sewer and water if not hooking to municipal service
4. Legal description of the property and a copy of the plat. 
5. Moratorium on Building Permits-The following moratorium references building permits for NEW STRUCTURES ONLY!
6. The Ward County Planning Commission will conduct a public hearing during the 7:00 PM meeting, Thursday, December 15, 2011 in the Commissioner's Room at the Ward County Courthouse.
1. A Resolution Enacting a one year moratorium on building permits within the 2011 Souris River Flood Zone in Ward County, North Dakota, Based on the 24,000 CFS inundation map as drawn by the Ward County Engineer.
7. Copies of the map can be reviewed at Ward County Building Department.
    

The fees for a building & alteration permits are $4.50 per $1,000 per estimated construction costs.

Building Inspections are set up through this office by appointment.
