Emergency Resource Council & Steering Committee

Meetings
The general council will regularly review local operations plans either during regular general council meetings or though an appointed review committee. The general council will address regular agenda items to include:
  • Natural occurrences such as weather, the seasons, etc.
  • Industrial / transportation issues
  • Exercises
  • Planning
  • Training
Members
The general council will function as Ward County's Local Emergency Planning Committee (LEPC). In accordance with federal directives and statutes, the general council shall include representatives of each of the membership categories prescribed in the Emergency Planning and Community Right to Know Act of 1986 (EPCRA).

Mission

The Ward County Emergency Resource Council (WCERC) shall have the responsibility of promoting public safety of the citizens and property for Ward County, North Dakota. The WCERC will strive to eliminate and/or mitigate disasters (both natural and man-made) through the use of the disaster preparedness cycle. The disaster preparedness cycle includes the concepts of preparedness, mitigation, response and recovery as they apply to Ward County’s readiness to respond to a disaster.
