POLICY: Ward County Juvenile Detention (WCJD) mandates a zero tolerance policy toward all forms of sexual abuse and sexual harassment. Policies dealing with sexual abuse and sexual harassment enforced by WCJD shall be based on the PREA Standards. It is the intention of WCJD to prevent, detect, and respond to sexual abuse and sexual harassment. Every allegation of sexual abuse and sexual harassment shall be administratively investigated by WCJD. Allegations that appear to involve criminal behavior, as determined by a preponderance of the evidence, shall be criminally investigated by the Ward County Sheriff’s Office or the BCI-Minot Office. These policies apply to residents and staff.
Ward County Juvenile Detention will accept third-party reports of sexual abuse and sexual harassment of residents.
